Get to know the Filling Station Peeps!

Brian Beeson:

Hey there! I’m pumped that you are checking us out! I am really thankful to be here and to see how God has brought so many cool people to help pour into you. For me, I spent some time teaching English in high school and also in China. That was pretty cool. My chopstick skills are pretty sweet and so is my Ping-Pong. You’ll have to practice up to beat me. In college I used to do pranks on people, so look out because I don’t think I’m totally cured of it! One of my favorite gags was calling people and acting like our local radio station, getting them to sing songs over the phone to my buddies and me. My favorite part about being a youth pastor is seeing you guys know God more and have encounters with Him. I’m a big fan on learning to hear God speak and acting on that. I have only one plant at my home (the other one died). I like to play Scrabble sometimes or basketball. I try to work-out because if I don’t, Robby Hieser (who can be found right below this) may beat me up!

Robby Hieser:

Hello! I am married to the best woman ever. She does all the behind the scenes stuff in our family’s life. I couldn't do it without her. I also have three strapping young boys: Eli is six, Christian is four, and I don't know how old Asher is (I think he is 2 years old). They are twice as hyper as me so we have our hands full. I also lead a small group for Sr. High guys and coach a youth paintball team. So the hardest thing in my life is keeping balance. Long story short, what I want to define me is Christ and Him crucified. I love my totally sweet action family and my friends rock all day long.

Johanna Hieser:

Hey! I am married and have three boys with Robby. My family lives on the northwest side of Indy. We also have a cat named Killer (yes, she lives up to her name)! Robby and I have worked with the youth for seven years in both the Jr. and Sr. High youth groups. I love being part of God transforming lives through community. Some of my hobbies are shopping (as long as it excludes going to the grocery store) and good movies (I'm a sucker for the romantic mushy ones). I currently serve as a small group leader for freshman girls.

Terralyn Seilkop:

Hey Ya'll! Yes, I am the southerner of the group. We southern belles love to be social buterflies and the life of the party. And though it's hot in the south, we don't sweat. We glow. So my hope is just to make everyone's day just a bit brighter! I grew up in good ol' GA, and then moved to sunny FL as a teen. My daughter, Mariah, and I moved here to Indy in late 2005 to be nearer to my family. We've been Vineyardites since late 2006. I'm planning to attend IUPUI and get my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I've been teaching gymnastics and fitness since 1996! That means I know a lot about creating an atmosphere that is fun and attractive to kids of all ages, so I will be heading up the games for the senior youth. I also have a heart for worship and prayer and hope to inspire the youth to fall in love with JESUS. What could be better? I was blessed to have youth ministers in my teens who inspired me then and still do today! My hope is to follow in their footsteps....and have a blast along the way!

Christine McNeal:

Hey! My secret dream is to be a spy. When I’m not day dreaming about that and working as a nanny, I like to hang-out with youth! I love to see people study the Word of God and watch as it transforms their hearts. Some of my hobbies are scrap-booking, photography, glacier skiing in Alaska, and hot air ballooning. Some cool facts about me are that I’ve been a short term foster mom for newborns since 2003 and both of my elbows are “double-jointed”. Those have nothing to do with each other. I realize that. I currently serve as a high school small group leader and hang out at the Filling Station.

Kara McGill:

I’ve been helping out with the senior high for a year now! I love talking with girls and listening to what is going on with their lives.

Tara Riley:

Hey! I live with her husband, Mike, and three dogs on the east side of Indy. We recently moved from northern Indiana, near Chicago. I’ve worked with youth since meeting Mike when he was a worship/small group leader, back in 2002. I have always had a passion for showing Christ’s love through simple, unexpected things. I find that spontaneous acts of love and kindness can go a long way. Sitting and talking/counseling teens (especially teenage girls whom I can align my life story and testimonies up with), has always been one of my favorite ways to serve. Listening to what teenagers have to say can mean something more significant than one realizes at the time. Since I began PA school in August 2008, my time is much more limited (unfortunately). However, when I do have a chance to take some time for myself, I enjoy decoupage (cut-out art decorating—cool!), bike riding, hanging out/jogging with my pups, and reading a good book. I am quite a reserved individual. I feel that my personality and life experience has a lot to offer to kids! As a side note, I undoubtedly enjoy a good hour of AMERICAN IDOL! I serve at Filing Station, high school youth group, on Sunday nights.

Mike Riley:

Hey there! Golf and wings are my favorite things. Huh, that rhymed. Another thing I like to do is play Halo when my wife isn’t around. God has significantly turned around my life. I enjoy challenging the students to really go for it in God. I volunteer with the youth band and lead a freshmen guys small group.

M’nM Peeps

Mary Lou Beeson:

Hey! This may help you guess my age when I say I have three grown children and one precious granddaughter. Yep, I’m a grandma! Something else cool about me is that I grew up in NJ but came to Butler University to become a famous opera singer; instead I met my future husband in the dorm lobby. God had other plans and I ended up becoming addicted to Jesus instead of opera! I’ve got to do a lot of things in life but recently I’ve been helping out with youth for the past year. Some of my passions are teaching and training women in the Word of God. I am also excited that in Christ, all the barriers that have separated us from God and each other have been torn down. He has given us the power of His Holy Spirit to advance His Kingdom. Some of my hobbies are music, tennis, golf, traveling, and reading. I am currently helping as a small group leader at M’nM.

Melissa Mowat:

Hello! I recently moved to Indianapolis from North Carolina in October! Prior to NC I lived in Chicago, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin. You could say I’m a nomad! I love travel and experiencing new places and faces. I currently reside in Irvington with my roomie, Rachel and my stuffed frog, Weeto. I love to enjoy life and the beautiful intricacies of the world God has made for us. I enjoy photography, writing, singing, guitar, painting, dancing, friendly competition, reading, sports, hanging out with friends, spending time outdoors….and many other things! I simply enjoy life! Something unique (and rarely noticed) about me is that my nose wiggles uncontrollably when I am laughing really hard. I always hide it or claim that I’ve learned how to control it, but that might be stretching it... One of the main passions Jesus has laid on my heart is BEAUTY! I am passionate about people discovering their identity and confidence in Christ and growing in that revelation. I believe that when we fully begin to realize how vast God’s love is for us, we begin to see ourselves the way HE sees us, and that is incredible! A verse I’m loving right now is: “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.” -Psalm 143:8

Erin McGill:

Hey, everyone! I enjoy singing, dancing, playing tennis, hanging with friends and family, and eating!!!! Sometimes you’ll see me up on stage Sunday morning as a part of the worship team. I live in Indy with my family as I’m thinking about what God is calling me to do next. I’ve been working with the youth here for the last year as I was finishing up high school. Some of my passions are: youth ministry, worship, dancing, and growing to know Jesus more. I’m currently helping out as a small group leader at M’nM.

Kris Mullin:

Hi my name is Kris. I love fishing, paintballing, and hanging out with my family and the most amazing M’nMers ever!!! My wife Chrissy and I moved to Indianapolis and joined the Vineyard in 2003 after attending ministry school. We have two beautiful little girls, Adyson and Abigail. I am volunteering as the middle school youth director. We are passion to see lives changed thru the word of God, to see our youth empowered to step out in faith and do the works of the Lord. An odd fun fact about me is my wife and I have the same birthday.
Chrissy, has a passion and desire to work with children. She is happily married to Kris and they have 2 little girls. She is co in-charge of the Preschool thru 1st grade rooms at the Vineyard and also provides childcare for youth leaders on Monday nights.

Eric Smith:

Hey, Guys! My wife, Shelly, and I live in Fishers. We are outdoor people—mountain biking, hiking, and working outside is fun for us! Heck, I got to build a tree house with my sons a few years ago. We’ve got two kids out of high school: Jason and Hope. Our third kid, Jake, still hangs-out with us. I’ve been serving with the sixth grade small group for one year now!

Emmett Hale:

I love God, my wife, my family, my motorcycle, and sour gummy worms (in that order). I help coach soccer for my daughters and help out around the home since my wife, Heather, began a nursing degree. I help out as a 6th grade small group leader at M’nM.

Connecting Point Dude

Rich Starkey:

Rich is often asked by his kids, “Dad, what in the world do you really do at work?” He is one of those lawyers that never sees the inside of a courtroom, but instead sits at his computer and anguishes over exactly what an “adjustable rate conversion date” means in a trust indenture. “Pretty boring, Dad,” is what he is used to hearing from any one of his three kids (Sammie—age 18, Annie—age 15 and David—age 12), or for that matter from his wife, Janet. When Rich isn’t at his boring work, he can be found on the golf course wishing he never took up the game of golf. Rich became a Christian through Young Life, so he’s always had a passion for kids. As one of the founders of Young Life once said, “It’s a sin to bore a kid—God is not boring!” I organize Connecting Point for the youth on Sundays. It’s in the Garage between services. challenge any of you to a game of Ping Pong.
